🏍️ The Ride
Tour & Quad Bike Questions
Absolutely. No prior experience is needed. Our instructors run a full safety and controls briefing before every session. The terrain is adjusted to your comfort level — beginners start on flatter dune sections before progressing to steeper rides.
Our ATVs can reach 60–80 km/h on open dunes. Riding speed is guided by your instructor based on your experience and confidence. Most beginners ride at 30–40 km/h. There is never pressure to ride fast.
We use 250cc and 450cc ATVs (all-terrain vehicles) with automatic transmission — suitable for all experience levels. 2-seater quads are purpose-built wide-body ATVs for comfortable dual riding. All bikes are maintained to strict safety standards and serviced regularly.
Comfortable clothes that can get sandy — jeans or light trousers work well. Closed-toe shoes are required (no sandals or flip-flops). We provide helmet, goggles, and gloves. Avoid loose scarves or jewellery that could catch in the bike. Apply sunscreen before you arrive.
Sandboards are available free of charge at the camp. Ask your guide to include a sandboarding stop during or after your quad session. No experience needed — it's similar to snow sledding on the dunes.
Yes. Cameras and action cameras are welcome. We make photo stops at the most scenic dune locations. Secure your camera with a mount or strap while riding. Keep your phone in a zipped pocket — the dunes are bumpy!
Yes — we offer fully private sessions for families, corporate groups, birthday parties, and large groups. The camp is exclusively yours during a private booking. WhatsApp us with your group size for a custom quote.
Early morning (6–9 AM) is coolest and best for photography — the dunes are empty and the light is golden. Late afternoon (3–5 PM) is ideal for sunset rides and leads naturally into the evening safari. Avoid midday in summer (June–August) due to extreme heat.
🪖 Safety
Safety & Licences
No licence required. Our quad bikes are ridden exclusively on private desert land at Lahbab — not public roads. Every rider gets a full safety briefing and controls walkthrough before the session begins, regardless of experience.
Minimum age to ride solo is 10 years. Riders aged 10–15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Children under 10 can ride as passengers on a 2-seater quad with an adult driver. There is no upper age limit.
Yes. Every ride includes: full safety briefing, helmet, goggles, gloves, a designated riding area, and experienced guides present throughout the session. We have completed 3,400+ rides with an outstanding safety record since 2015.
We provide a full-face or open-face helmet, goggles, and riding gloves for every rider. All gear is cleaned and sanitised between sessions. Bring your own neck scarf or buff if you prefer extra dust protection.

❤️ Health
Health & Medical Questions
Quad biking is not recommended for: pregnant women, guests with serious back or neck injuries, heart conditions, recent surgeries, or severe motion sickness. Please inform us of any medical conditions when booking and we will advise the most suitable activity.
Quad biking and dune bashing are not suitable for pregnant guests. However, pregnant guests are very welcome at the camp for the evening safari — they can enjoy the BBQ dinner, henna art, shisha, cultural shows, and sunset photography without any physical activity.
Those with mild back discomfort often ride without issue — the ATVs have cushioned seats and the pace can be kept gentle. However, guests with serious spinal conditions or recent back surgery should consult their doctor first. Dune bashing in the safari involves more vibration than the quad itself.
The recommended maximum weight for solo riding is 120 kg. For 2-seater quads, the combined weight limit is 200 kg. If you are unsure, please contact us before booking and we will ensure the right bike is available for you.
